At Sound Hearing Clinic, the protection of information collected from all of our clients is important. We adhere to British Columbia's "Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (1993)" (FIPPA) and the "Protection of Privacy Act (2004)" (PIPA). The FIPPA mandates how information collected by public agencies or government bodies must be handled, collected, released, and/or destroyed. The PIPA mandates how private organizations, such as Sound Hearing Clinic, collects private information and how it is to be handled, collected, released, and/or destroyed. Those clients of Sound Hearing Clinic that are covered by third party providers such as WorkSafeBC , Non-Insured Health Benefits of Health Canada, or Veteran Affairs Canada would have their information protected by both FIPPA and PIPA.
